In some countries the legal aspects concerning LGBT community is far more complicated than other places. For instance in Jamaica sex between men is punishable with up to ten years imprisonment! While girl-on-girl action is allowed though.
In some cases Jamaica has been described by human rights groups as the most homophobic place on Earth because of the high level of violent crime directed at LGBT population. However there are many other countries such as those in Middle East where there no clear statistics and reports about the crimes and discrimination rates about this minority group.
This is odd that even in their law in Jamaica they have such paragraphs stating it exactly towards males and not the whole population:
Section 79. Outrages on decency. Any male person who, in public or private, commits, or is a party to the commission of, or procures or attempts to procure the commission by any male person of, any act of gross indecency with another male person, shall be guilty of a mis-demeanour, and being convicted thereof shall be liable at the discretion of the court to be imprisoned for a term not exceeding two years, with or without hard labour.
It has been reported that violence and behaving aggressively (beating them) particularly with gay males is a very common incident within the country. Gay people are called "'battybwai' or 'chi-chi man'" by locals and may get harassed or attacked in any situation if they get discovered.
